I wake up as the sun rises
To a new day full of surprises
Maybe lockdown’s finally over
Or maybe covid is spreading all over
Face masks, sanitisers, toilet paper too
People throwing parties to prove they’re cool
Covid is getting worse every day
Yet it seems like it is here to stay
I don’t remember the last time I saw real people
I guess lockdown proves relationships are fickle
I close my eyes and go to sleep
And hope that covid was all a dream
